kedarnath is a temple and town in Uttarakhand, India, which is a prominent place of pilgrimage for Hindus. The Kedarnath Temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.
Location: In the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, At an altitude of 3,586 meters, Near the head of the Mandakini River, and Surrounded by the Himalayas.

Temple:

Constructed of huge, evenly cut grey stones
Estimated to be more than 1,000 years old
Features a conical rock formation that is worshipped as Lord Shiva
Part of the Char Dham pilgrimage circuit

Pilgrimage:

The best time to visit is from May to October
The temple is not accessible by road
You can reach the temple by trekking 16 kilometers uphill from Gaurikund
You can also take pony or porter service
Helicopter services are available
Other attractions: Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi, The Chota Char Dham, The Kedar Dome, and Other Himalayan peaks.
